Kolkata comes forward to support ‘Aviva’s Walk for Less Privileged Children’

Aviva and Great Indian Dream Foundation, an NGO, organized a walkathon in the city of Kolkata to increase awareness and raise funds for education for underprivileged children in India.

Over 1600 participants from all walks of life – young and old, students, housewives, retired personnels and professionals, streamed onto the streets of Kolkata to show their support for the ‘Aviva’s Walk for less privileged children’. The Walkathon was flagged off by Mr. PK Banerjee, sports personality; Mr. Amrik Singh Arora, singer; John Mayne, Aviva; Vivika Dass, Aviva from Birla Planetarium at 7:30 am. After covering a distance of about 5 kms, the Walkathon culminated at the Birla Planetarium.

The participants also received a number of exciting prizes. The first prize in the ‘Youngest Walker’ category was awarded to Mohit from Birla High School and ‘Fastest Female Walker’ to Lovely Choudhury. There were two winners for the ‘Fastest Male Walker’ Manoj and Shamin.
